Volunteers working in Quality Assurance (QA) evaluate donated food products by inspecting and sorting packaged food products to control for such issues as shelf life (dates), dented cans, crushed boxes, or other superficially damaged food. The purpose of QA is to ensure the food is safe for consumption as required by both Federal Government and Feeding America guidelines.
- Can the volunteer safely lift 35 lbs.
- To participate, volunteers must be at least 13 years old. Volunteers age 13 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes.
- The entrance and parking to Quality Assurance is behind the Food Bank building.
